THE RETURN OF THE DAVE PARIS GROUP
Barbe & Dave have been hitting the open mics in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area rebuilding the band prepping for some upcoming shows. They are gearing up the Dave Paris Group once again adding new songs to their set. This summer will find the band onstage at the Cedar Rapids “Fredstock” festival in the Mound View District, as well as a show in Central City. They’ll also be a part of the Riley Smith Youth Music Festival, put on by the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy where Dave now works.
This show will feature Dave’s song “Wood, Wire, Wind”, performed on a “Shovel Guitar”, instead of the usual, “less weird” cigar box guitar(?). Here’s a video of Dave & the band practicing the tune with his cigar box guitar.
DAVE & BARBE PERFORMING UNDISTORTED
Undistorted, the name Barbe & Dave perform under as an acoustic duo, is also picking up steam. They’ve been taking this set to events like Chalk the Walk in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and will be doing a few shows this summer as well. Check out the Events page for more info.

Having contracted for some time previously, Dave came on to help manage the programs related to music. Aside from procedural and curriculum related tasks, Dave also teaches guitar and recording classes, and helps manage their recording studio.
The Eastern Iowa Arts Academy is a non-profit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that provides after-school arts activities for youth, and adult classes. If you’re in the area & curious about getting involved or getting a membership for a young person, stop in or contact Dave at the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy.
